Clare and I have worked closely together for the past year, I have been with kids Bee Happy since January 2016 and Clare since February 2015. We both live in the same area so decided to join forces so we could make maximum use of our sand art exposure.

We regularly attend meetings together to do demonstrations and discuss setting up sand art sessions. We currently have sessions at various places I.e Garden centres, play centres, schools, etc.  We have lots of regular venues that we now use and our customers know we will be back every school holiday, half terms and summer.

We use Facebook as our main advertising tool to create events and share on local Facebook sites or in local magazines.  Every summer we put together one poster which shows all our venues and dates/times, we give these out at all events prior to the summer to make people aware of where we will be.  We rarely attend events together unless it is a really big one. This way we can cover two events on the same day.  We have our own sand art Facebook page where customers can see what we do and message us directly, we share pictures and special offers.

Clare does the main admin i.e. finding events, making enquiries, chasing bookings, answering messages etc – having one person doing this means the customer gets consistent information.  Any enquiries we get we both check our diaries to see who can cover it, this works well as we both have young families and we can work around our family commitments.  Any events we can’t cover we offer them out on our team Buzzy Bees Facebook page and Base Camp.  Every now and then we put together a competition and offer a free pack or party, this helps get our Facebook likes up.

As a Senior Team Leader I hold regular team meetings and keep my team up to date with new info on our team page.  Working together with someone else works well for me and Clare – we have customers asking us to return to events which is fantastic. We have recently set up a regular after school club. Our next mission is to visit local care homes to try to set up a regular mid week sand art session.
