Delivery Charges

by | 28/06/2018 | KBH News, Kids Bee Happy Business Opportunities

Kids Bee Happy uses a number of parcel and courier companies for our worldwide deliveries.  This page explains the delivery costings and normal carriers for different areas and countries:

Mainland GB Deliveries

If you live in England, Scotland or Wales, then the zone applicable to your purchase is “Mainland GB”.  The costs for these are £5 for orders of less than £100, £3 for orders of £200-100, and free delivery on orders over £200.  All amounts here are determined NET of VAT, so please check your NET of VAT cost price.

Mainland GB deliveries are undertaken by DPD and booked on a next (working) day delivery service.  DPD are around 96% sucessful for first attempt deliveries on the next day service.  But please make sure that you have the DPD app installed on your phone so that you are aware of the time of the delivery, and any delays are notified to you promptly giving you the option to change delivery locations or dates.

Highlands and Islands deliveries

Generally next day delivery isn’t possible to the Highlands and Islands, and although our costs increase quite dramatically, we as a company absorb rather than pass on that delivery surcharge.  DPD uses Menzies Distribution for the Higlands and Islands, which helps keeps those surcharges as low as possible, and offers a more environmentally friendly delivery option as they combine parcels from many different courier companies.  It also helps from a customer perspective as you’ll find you tend to have regular drives delivering at regular times.

Northern Ireland

Unfortunately deliveries to Northern Ireland are charged by the courier companies at a higher rate than Mainland GB.  And the reason for this is simply volume –  far more parcels go over the water to NI than come back.  Please note that next day delivery is not possible, and so deliveries generally take 2 working days.

For NI  we may use DPD, Royal Mail for smaller parcels, and Parcelforce for economy deliveries.  We use a variety of couriers as we strive to keep the costs of delivery as low as possible.  And although we do charge higher costs for NI deliveries (£5 or £10) the delivery cost we charge is substantially less than the delivery cost that we as a company pay.

Republic of Ireland

Unfortunately courier companies charge more to deliver to ROI than they do mainland Europe.  The reason for this is simply volume –  far more parcels go into ROI than come out, and that ROI isn’t an intermediary location in a bigger route.  Please note that next day delivery is not possible, and so deliveries generally take 2 working days.

For ROI  we may use DPD, Royal Mail for smaller parcels, and Parcelforce for economy deliveries.  We use a variety of couriers as we strive to keep the costs of delivery as low as possible.  And although we do charge higher costs for ROI deliveries (£15) the delivery cost we charge is substantially less than the delivery cost that we as a company pay.

Isle of Man

I feel like typing – see ROI but only worse 🙁  The Isle of Man has a very low number of inward deliveries, and an even smaller number of outbound parcels and so the costs of shipping are substantially higher.  Please note that next day delivery is not possible, and so deliveries generally take 2-3 working days.

For Isle of Man we may use DPD, Royal Mail for smaller parcels, and Parcelforce for economy deliveries.  We use a variety of couriers as we strive to keep the costs of delivery as low as possible.  And although we do charge higher costs for ROI deliveries (£25) the delivery cost we charge is substantially less than the delivery cost that we as a company pay.

Please be assured that we regularly check round different courier to see if it is possible to reduce this cost.
